Who we are

NHS Calculator is an independent website that publishes practical, free health calculators for people in the United Kingdom. We are not part of the NHS and we are not a medical service — we are a small team focused on making UK health measurements easy to understand and quick to calculate.

What we do

We build calculators for everyday health questions — weight, body measurements, pregnancy dates, nutrition, heart and health risk, clinical screening tools and NHS eligibility tools. Each calculator follows the published UK or NHS method for the measure it covers, and each page explains the method, sources and limitations in plain English.

Our approach

Accuracy and honesty come first. A clinical calculator is only published after its formula, thresholds, units, source version and limitations have been checked against authoritative references. If a method is not yet verified, the calculator stays unpublished. Every page is expected to name its author, reviewer, sources and last review date, and we operate a public corrections process set out in our Corrections Policy.
